FAQ

Q: What kinds of models do you build?

A: We can build any kind of model in any shape or size and in a variety of materials depending on your needs. Some examples of the types of models we build are aircraft, spacecraft, land vehicles, water vehicles, buildings, furniture, and signs. Please take a look at the Products/Services page for more information on the kinds of models we make.

Q: How detailed can my model be?

A: Your model can be built with any level of detail desired. We can do anything from a basic, low-detail model which just shows size and shape to an extremely high-detailed model that looks exactly like the real thing.

Q: What do I need to provide in order to get a quote?

A: You need to provide computer-generated drawings, hand-drawn sketches, blueprints, a CAD model, or a previous model to use as an example. Detailed and accurate drawings will insure that you get the most accurate quote possible. We would also need to know the level of detail desired. Other information may be required for some projects.

Q: How long will it take to make my model?

A: The length of time it takes to build your model will depend on the detail level and the size of the model, how many you want, and how many other projects we have at the same time as yours. On average, you can expect for your project to take somewhere between three and six weeks. Large projects can take several months. We offer an expedited turnaround on most projects for an additional fee. Same-day service is available for laser cutting and engraving.

Q: What file formats do you accept for the production of my model?

A: For laser cutting and engraving, we accept Corel Draw (.cdr), Adobe Illustrator (.ai), and Adobe Illustrator EPS (.eps) files. For model fabrication, we accept Inventor files, IGES files, Pro/Engineer files, STEP files, DWG files, and DXF files. Other file types may be acceptable. Please contact us for more information.
